Download Teacup

Teacup is free to download. It costs $3 once to unlock.

What you need

• A Mac with Apple silicon, running macOS 26 or later.
• About 2 GB of free space for the speech models. They download after you unlock Teacup.
• An internet connection during setup, to check your code and download the models. After that, Teacup works offline.

Install

1. Open Teacup.pkg from your Downloads folder.
2. Follow the installer. It takes under a minute and puts Teacup in your Applications folder.
3. Teacup opens by itself when the installer finishes.

Teacup only runs from your Applications folder. A copy opened from anywhere else shows a window that offers to move it there.

First launch

Teacup walks you through a short setup:

1. Name. What Teacup should call you. It's only used for the greeting on Home.
2. Examples. A few short demos of Teacup at work.
3. Unlock. Buy Teacup for $3, or paste the code from your receipt.
4. Import. If you used Wispr Flow, bring your dictionary and snippets over. You can skip this.
5. Language. Choose the language you'll speak most. Teacup picks the right models and starts downloading them.
6. Permissions. Allow Microphone and Accessibility, then hold right ⌥ to try your key.
7. Getting ready. Teacup finishes the download and gets the model ready.

Then hold right ⌥, talk, and let go. Your text lands where your cursor is.

Buy and unlock

Teacup costs $3 once, tax included. There's no account and no subscription.

You pay through Lemon Squeezy, which sells Teacup for us and handles payment, tax and receipts. You can pay with Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal or a card.

Your code appears on the last page of checkout and in your receipt email. Lemon Squeezy calls it a license key. It's the same thing.

To unlock:

1. Copy the code.
2. In Teacup's Unlock step, press Paste code. Or paste it in the field and press Unlock.
3. Teacup checks the code with Lemon Squeezy once, then it's unlocked on this Mac.

If you bought Teacup here before downloading it, install it and paste your code when setup reaches Unlock.

One code unlocks one Mac. Reinstalling on the same Mac never asks for it again. To move Teacup to a new Mac, see Moving to a new Mac.

Lost your code? Open your Lemon Squeezy orders and enter the email you paid with. Lemon Squeezy emails you a sign-in link and shows every code you've bought.

Updates

Teacup updates itself in the background and keeps your permissions and settings. To check now, choose Check for updates in Teacup's menu bar menu, or in Settings › About.
